Network Solutions is our VPS provider. As is the box comes pre installed w/ FC6 w/ no package manager installed by default. Considering its 2010 this is absurd. This tutorial details installing Yum on FC6. If you have a choice I recommend you pick another VPS such as Linode or Slicehost, or install a newer version of Fedora. If you don’t, read on.

Use terminal or Putty to SSH in as root or to an account w/ admin privileges.

CD to your home folder:

cd ~

Download all the required RPM’s:

wget http://mdgrech.com/rpm-packages.tar.gz

Extract the contents:

tar -zxvf rpm-packages.tar.gz

Now the time consuming part. Install the RPM’s. I didn’t take note of the order in which I installed the RPM’s so you will have to experiment here. I recommend going down the list installing alphabetically seeing as Yum should be the last package you install. Install the RPM’s w/ the following command:

rpm -ivh package-name

Almost done. Now we need to update the locations of the RPM repositories as Fedora is no longer providing support for this release. I found an awesome resource on the Fedora Forums detailing repo configuration for FC1 through F9. Follow the instructions for FC6 and you will finally have Yum installed on your box. Congratulations!

Have you driven a BMW before? It really is an experience. When you press the gas there is no play, the steering is tight, and the headrest is perfectly placed. Every little detail is thought out. BMW doesn’t have a marketing team. Just engineers that make kick ass autos.

Domestic auto manufactures spend billions attempting to convince us their products are ship worthy while foreign auto manufactures spend little on advertising but place great emphasis on producing amazing vehicles.

Kodak is another example. They used to make bad assed cameras that took amazing photos. But now they make cameras with big screens that hook into your photo dock so you can print out your shit ass photos. Meanwhile Canon is making simple cameras, with small screens, that take amazing photos.

So Canon makes cameras professional photographers love, and BMW makes automobiles racing professional’s love. Now picture a bell curve of camera buyers. Professional photographers would be the far left extreme occupying a minute part of the market. Suits at Kodak decided they wanted to go for the biggest market chunk. And hence they make average cameras, for average chumps. But the thing is Americans fucking hate being Average. And average people are still buying Canon over Kodak anyway because people who know what they’re doing use Canon. Being Average is risky. Risky as fuck.

Being average is an awful business strategy. It’s even worse for your sex life. Being average sends mixed signals to the opposite sex making you look like you lack conviction in your beliefs. If you’re liberal be a bloody fucking liberal. If you’re conservative go to church, swear off sex till marriage, and bash homosexuals. The purists are at the extremes and its hard not to be attracted to someone who is so fanatical about their beliefs that they take on a religious zeal.

Notably purists are remarkable. The thing about remarkable people is they are worth remarking about. People want to talk about them. They create a brand in of around themselves and what American doesn’t love a good brand name.

BMW attracts average consumers by catering to a niche market. By casting ourselves within a narrow scope we too would attract large amounts of potential suitors. Embracing our individuality spurs passion, igniting romance. So be fucking proud of who you are. Don’t be afraid to wear your emotions on your sleeve. And never ever be afraid to tell someone you disagree with to fuck off.

Picture a world where men and women actually like each other. They thoroughly enjoy each other’s company. A lot. They spar. They debate. They flirt. Hell they even actively seek out one another’s company in a multiplicity of social settings. No longer are men grouped together in hunched packs, eyeballing their female cohorts, nor are woman to be found in hen like clusters actively pecking away at the male psyche. Both sexes are equally represented at social gatherings, and mingling among the sexes is not only encouraged but also actively enforced through a complex web of social cues.

The balanced gender diversity is juicy. Juicy as fuck. As the sexes intermix conversations flow from intellectual thought to innocent flirtation. The tête-à-têtes lightens the air as both sexes lose prior inhibitions. Rather then rebuff flirtation woman relish in the thought of being cherished. Flirtation becomes the drug of choice for all woman, they recognize it as the lifeblood that beats at the core of their primal urges. Flirtation is no longer a direct sexual approach but rather a mechanism to delight the senses through stimulating conversation.

The differences between the sexes are accepted. Men and woman are simply different. No effort is made by either party to denounce the ways of the other. Rather a sense of self is gained through conversing about the differences between men and woman. The sense of mystique and mystery that shrouds the opposite sex is sexy. Sexy as hell.

As women embrace interaction with men, and no longer view flirtation as a threat the sexual goals of the male become less linear. The male is now far more concerned with playing the field rather then literally plowing it as he was before. A sense of love has been bestowed upon him through his playful interactions with the woman that surround him. Preoccupations with sex have disappeared, he is now far more concerned with the entire experience that accompanies love.

With the gatekeepers of egalitarianism ever present a new world where equality reigns supreme is born. The phallic is no longer a symbol of power but rather seen as a divining rod of sorts. It senses emotion, adjusting itself accordingly. It can now tell if a woman is interested, if she wants to dance, or even if she feels fat. The undeniable physical differences between the sexes are praised as they allow both sexes to fit so snuggly together. The penis is now a blessed object, a giver of life.
